Tanzania Security Fee

We would like to update you on the implementation of a new Kilimanjaro security fee. We have received a notification from the Tanzania Airport Authority of a new Security fee of $5 for international flights departing from Kilimanjaro airport that was effective from 01st August 2021.
As a result‚ the additional $5 surcharge will be applied for all passengers departing from Kilimanjaro airport on Safarilink flights with immediate effect. Safarilink will absorb charges for any ticketed bookings for travel up to 30th November 2021. Any non-ticketed bookings for August and beyond will be charged the additional fee. However‚ any changes/amendments made to ticketed bookings will be charged the new fee.
We regret the inconvenience caused as result of the short notice issued by Tanzania Airport Authority.
TRAVEL INTO TANZANIA
We wish to remind our passengers that a negative Covid -19 certificate is required for all passengers travelling To/From Tanzania. Passengers into Tanzania must complete the public Health Surveillance Form online at least 24hours before arrival using the link: https://afyamsafiri.moh.go.tz
Likewise‚ passengers departing Kenya into Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar must complete the Trusted Travel form and load their PCR results on: firstname.lastname@example.org
To minimise the delays‚ we are experiencing at immigration and port health screening‚ all passengers travelling to Tanzania are requested to have printed copies of their travel documents ready to avoid delays at the immigration office. These documents include Trusted Travel QR Code‚ the negative PCR test results for COVID‚ yellow fever cards‚ and visa if required.
Following our earlier communication regarding resumption of our Zanzibar flights‚ we regret to inform you that we have had to review our operations due to the slow uptake even as travel restrictions are eased. We therefore plan to resume the Zanzibar schedule from 16th December 2021 through to 2022.
However‚ please note the following:
• In August‚ we are operating a few flights that meet the minimum threshold to operate. Ticketed bookings affected in August have already been reprotected on alternative airlines in liaison with the agent /passengers.
From 01st September Onwards
• For both ticketed and non-ticketed bookings‚ we request that the rebooking be carried out by the respective booking offices/agents. Bookings will be cancelled‚ refunded‚ or postponed to the next season at no change fees with applicable fare difference if any. However‚ we are willing to provide assistance for reprotection on other airlines.
